Welcome to EZ-SEC-API! By accessing or using our services, including our API that provides data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any part of our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("ToS"). If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you may not access or use our service.

2. Service Description

We provide access to publicly available data from the SEC through an API. The data is redistributed "as-is" and without modification, and we do not offer any guarantees about the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data.

3. User Conduct

You agree to use our services in a lawful manner and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may not:

• Use the service to distribute any unlawful or fraudulent content or data.
• Use the service in a way that violates the rights of others, including privacy or intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to bypass any security measures we employ or interfere with the operation of our service.

4. API Usage and Limitations

• The current product is free to use; however, to ensure fairness and availability, API usage is limited to 1,000 requests per user per 24-hour period.
• Abuse of the service, including but not limited to exceeding request limits or attempting to disrupt the service, may result in suspension or termination of access to our API.
• We reserve the right to monitor usage to prevent abuse and maintain service quality.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Redistribute our API data in a way that implies it has been modified or verified by us.
• Use the data for purposes that violate any applicable securities laws or regulations.
• Use automated tools to excessively query our API, circumvent request limits, or degrade the quality of service for others.

6. Data Ownership and License

All data accessed via our API is publicly available from the SEC. We do not claim ownership over the data itself. However, the API, its structure, and its presentation are the intellectual property of EZ-SEC-API.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

We provide the API and the data on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no warranties or representations regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service. Your use of the API is at your sole risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall EZ-SEC-API, its affiliates, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the API or the data obtained through it.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for violations of this ToS or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect the integrity of our service.

10. Modifications to the Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of the service after such changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
