Introduction

The EZ-SEC API provides developers with streamlined access to SEC filing data through a high-performance, cached repository of corporate documents submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Our platform addresses the limitations of direct free EDGAR API access by maintaining a comprehensive database of pre-processed filings, enabling rapid data retrieval without the constraints of traditional rate limiting.

These enhanced filings are standardized and reformatted to ensure consistent data structures across companies, addressing the challenge that SEC regulations don't require uniform formatting, which complicate multi-company financial analysis.

Getting Started

API Access: To begin using the EZ-SEC API, create a developer account and obtain your authentication token from the account dashboard. All API requests require a valid API key for authentication.

Free Tier Available: EZ-SEC API offers a comprehensive free tier with generous rate limits, ensuring accessibility for developers, researchers, and small-scale applications. Premium tiers with enhanced features and higher limits are available for enterprise use cases.

Rate Limits: The EZ-SEC API is currently in Beta. Free tier accounts are limited to 1,000 requests per 24-hour period. These limits are designed to ensure optimal service performance for all users while our platform scales to meet growing demand.

Supported Filing Types

The EZ-SEC API provides access to all SEC filing types from the complete EDGAR database. The filing types listed in the navigation represent those that receive enhanced processing and standardization by our financial data experts. Each enhanced filing type supports multiple query methods including Central Index Key (CIK), company name, and ticker symbol lookups.

Enhanced vs. Raw Filings: Filing types shown in the left navigation receive expert processing for standardized data structures. All other SEC filing types are available in their original format as published by the SEC. Use the "Other" section to access any filing type with the placeholder format (e.g., "10-Q" or "4").
